Pricing is reasonably simple and is comprised of three main elements:

  button Survey set up

Respondent costs

  Other costs

Payment Terms

Survey Setup

This price will depend on the number of online survey questions, plus the complexity of the research development logic set up. If you are running your online survey off a website or plan to email out the online survey yourself, your only cost will be the survey set up.

respondents

There are three general sources of online survey respondents.

  • Through a website or portal
  • An email list
  • An online research panel, or a combination of the three.

Website or portal
If you place the online survey link on a website, there will be no additional costs unless you anticipate more than 2,000 respondents or wish Buzz to host the survey for longer than 3 months.

If you need an online portal through which respondents will enter your  survey, we can assist with the portal set up and hosting. This can often be far easier than asking the end-clients technical team to do this, with their multitude of priorities.

Email lists
If you choose to send your own emails, you will not incur any additional costs over the scripting costs unless you anticipate more than 2,000 respondents or wish us to host the online survey for longer than 3 months.

If you ask us to send your emails you will be charged a small fee plus charged per email sent. The advantages of us sending the online survey out to your email list are:

  • We can draw in additional information such as a customer ID, customer value, location etc and then show this information in the final dataset;
  • We can automatically send reminders to non-respondents or people who haven't completed the online survey.

Online research panels
In general, online research panels are the most expensive source of online survey respondents, although still significantly cheaper than reaching respondents through other modes of research such as Telephone or Face-to-Face.

Most panel sourced samples will incur a set up cost, a charge per completed survey response, and a filter out (sometimes called Screen Out) cost.

The three main determinants of the charges for an online research panel cost are:

  • The length of time it takes online survey respondents to complete your survey;
  • The total number of completed responses you need in your sample;
  • The incidence of your target respondents in the general population. i.e. the harder your target respondents are to reach, or lower the incidence, the most expensive your respondent cost will be because of the additional filter out costs.

other costs

Many projects will incur only scripting and respondent costs. However, we do provide many other services and the cost of these are estimated in the planning phase. These costs may be tightened up once the online questionnaire and approach is finalised, and the final invoice will depend on actual time taken.

The project planning consideration list of questions can be a very useful checklist to help you prepare your brief to us, to and avoid surprises for you and your client.
Examples of other costs are:

  • Assistance with questionnaire design, or project planning - an hourly rate;
  • Development of an online portal - a fixed fee for a single page portal where you provide the design work;
  • Project management participation; Buzz Channel do not usually get involved in the project management with your end-client unless there is tailored technology development in the project. Where we do get involved - an hourly charge;
  • Translation Portal - a fixed fee to set up the translation portal based on the number of languages required, and the translation service charge is passed on;
  • Tailored technology development - an hourly rate and may include a charge to assist in the development of the requirements document;
  • Additional editing or piloting rounds - may be a fee and hourly rate, with one round of editing and one pilot to one list in one language allowed for in our standard pricing;
  • Use of third party research panels - we may charge a fee based on an hourly rate to set up complex market research projects that require negotiation with third party panel providers;
  • Coding of open-ended online survey responses - based on an hourly rate so affected by the number of survey questions and responses being coded;
  • Assistance with data export and formatting - a standard charge to provide an SPSS file and otherwise an hourly rate for data manipulation.

All estimated costs will be highlighted with you prior to your commitment to the project.

payment terms

On project commencement you will be invoiced 50% of the estimated project cost and the balance will be invoiced on the sending of the reminder emails to your list, or the achievement of panel sample numbers.

Progress payments may be agreed for longer, complex projects.

Payment is required 7 days from receipt of the invoice.

In no circumstances does Research Connectionsagree to wait for our client to be paid by the end-client to receive our payments. Therefore for our clients who do not have available cash to pay us on time, it is essential that the end-client makes provision for our payment terms prior to a project commencing.

Research Connections goes to great lengths to meet the most demanding timeline, and this prompt payment of our invoices is greatly appreciated.
